Transmissão de Ruído Via Ossos e Tecidos está sendo discutido após a decisão do ARE n.664.335 onde o STF questionou a possibilidade de transmissão do ruído via ossos e tecidos. Estudos técnicos científicos comprovam que para que haja esse tipo de transmissão é necessária a exposição ao ruído de mais de 115dB, entre outras questões.
Segundo o Prof Samir Gerges, no livro Protetores Auditivos (clique aqui para adquirir o livro), a transmissão de ruído via ossos e tecidos pode ser ignorada na maior parte dos casos. Considerando que o protetor auditivo reduz somente a energia acústica que chega ao sistema de audição via ar, deixando passar uma parcela que é transmitida através dos ossos e dos tecidos. Porém esse caminho é considerado importante somente para protetores que fornecem atenuação superior à 45-55 dB, pois esta é a média de atenuação dos ossos/tecidos.
Como no mercado brasileiro, hoje, não existem protetores que atenuam mais que 45dB esta transmissão de ruído via ossos e tecidos, na maioria dos casos, pode ser ignorada.
